The best part of my job is witnessing the growth each individual attains when prioritizing their health and wellbeing through therapy. I find a lot of joy in helping people access their individual strengths to make positive changes in their lives and heal from the curve balls that life throws at us. No matter how big or small you may feel your problems are, I believe that everyone deserves therapy, and we can all benefit from discovering the parts of us that need a little bit more love and care.
I have experience working with and am interested in a variety of concerns including mood disorders (anxiety, depression, etc.), life transitions, women’s issues, OCD, grief and loss, relationship/interpersonal conflicts, trauma, and issues with self-image/self-esteem. I see folks on an individual basis and work with ages sixteen and up. I also have training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), helping those with Borderline Personality Disorder or for those hoping to focus on skills-based therapy. I find it especially important in my practice to create a comfortable and accepting space for everyone, including those in marginalized communities.
In my life outside of work, I am very much a homebody. I enjoy spending time with my husband and our 4 animals (yes, you read that correctly), gardening, trying new recipes, decorating, crafting, and organizing. I also love to travel and experience new places, try new restaurants, and often find myself drawn to wherever animals are. A hobby farm is definitely on my bucket list. I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor( LPCC) in the state of Minnesota. I first received my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a minor in Gender and Women’s Studies from the University of Wisconsin – Madison. I then moved back to my lovely home state of MN where I received a Master of Arts in Educational Psychology through the Counseling and Student Personnel Psychology program at the University of Minnesota – Twin cities, along with a Graduate Minor in Integrative Therapies and Healing Practices. While I feel conflicted at times, the Badgers will always have my heart.
