WHAT TO EXPECT

Families and students may self-refer to the school social workers or deans for linkage to our school-based services. School personnel may also refer families and students to our clinicians. Like any therapy outside of school, this will be billed to insurance. However, we do have financial assistance available if necessary. Our experienced clinicians will have a meeting with you and your child to do a thorough review of their developmental, academic, social, emotional, behavioral, family, medical and treatment history. This is called a Diagnostic Assessment or Intake session. Each clinician will send or email you all the required paperwork to complete prior to your meeting with your clinician. Please complete this as thoroughly as possible – it really helps us during this first meeting! During this meeting your clinician will also talk about next steps, provide recommendations and begin to plan for treatment.

If your child is under age 12, we request that this first meeting, either virtual or in person, is with parent(s) or guardians only without your child present. This helps your clinician to gather all necessary information in a clear, honest and open discussion. We do require that this person(s) be a legal guardian/parent, and we will need a Release of Information from the legal guardian to talk with any other care givers.

If your child is over the age of 12, we may meet with them separately but will connect with you virtually or in-person as well. We will collect information, talk together about recommendations and next steps and begin to plan for treatment.
