You deserve more than a prescription and a follow-up date.
You’ve been referred to a psychiatrist. You call three practices, two aren’t taking new patients, one has a six-week wait.
You finally get an appointment, fill out the same forms you’ve filled out before, and leave with a prescription and a follow-up three months away. Meanwhile, you’re calling your pharmacy every week because your ADHD medication is backordered again.
This is what most practices in Minnesota offer. Natalis was built to be different.
Since 2006, we have operated on a model where the diagnostic work happens before your first psychiatric appointment and where your pharmacy is a partner in your care, not a bottleneck.
At Natalis, a licensed therapist conducts a full Diagnostic Interview before your first psychiatric appointment. This covers your medical, developmental, behavioral, and treatment history, so your PMHNP arrives with a complete clinical picture, not a blank intake form.
Most practices in the Twin Cities skip this step. Natalis built its entire psychiatric model around it.
The result: fewer diagnostic errors, a shorter medication trial-and-error cycle, and a treatment plan grounded in your actual history.
Your first interaction at Natalis is with a licensed therapist, not a prescriber. They conduct a thorough intake covering past diagnoses and medications tried, developmental and academic history, family dynamics, trauma history, and what has brought you here now. This foundation is what makes your first appointment with one of our Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioners (PMHNPs) faster and more accurate.
A board-certified PMHNP reviews the diagnostic intake and meets with you directly. Together, not unilaterally you build a psychopharmacological treatment plan calibrated to your specific needs. Therapy findings, psychological testing results, and lifestyle factors all inform the final formulation. Medication is one tool in this plan, not the only one.
Follow-up sessions are scheduled based on your individualized plan, not a generic calendar. Your prescriber monitors your response, adjusts dosage or medication when needed, and stays in active coordination with your therapy provider. Most psychiatric medications require 4-8 weeks to reach full clinical effect. You are never left waiting without a scheduled check-in.
When a prescriber sees a patient with no history, no therapist input the risk of misdiagnosis or over-medication increases significantly.
The Dual-Review model is not an administrative hurdle. It is a diagnostic quality filter that reduces cold-start error and produces treatment plans grounded in your complete clinical picture.

Through Natalis’s partnership with Genoa Pharmacy, patients receive psychiatric prescriptions via on-site pickup at any Natalis location, direct-to-home delivery across Minnesota, or pre-sorted daily blister packaging designed to improve medication adherence.
This eliminates the retail pharmacy fulfillment gap including the chronic ADHD stimulant shortages at chains like Walgreens and CVS that disrupts care for thousands of Minnesota patients each year.
Since 2022, national shortages of Schedule II stimulants, Adderall, Ritalin, Vyvanse, and Concerta, have repeatedly left patients without their prescriptions for days or weeks at a time.
Ask our intake team about Genoa Pharmacy enrollment when you schedule your first appointment.

Diagnosis is confirmed through a structured clinical evaluation, not by this list. If your concern is not listed, contact us and our intake team will confirm whether Natalis is the right fit.
Natalis has provided psychiatric care for children as young as six since 2006. The intake process is designed to include parents at the appropriate level at every stage, giving families meaningful involvement without compromising the therapeutic relationship with the patient.
Important: Your child will never be seen by a prescriber without the Diagnostic Interview foundation already in place. The intake process is specifically designed to capture the full developmental, academic, behavioral, and family history a pediatric prescriber needs.
