About Dr. Jay

Location: St. Paul and Woodbury, telehealth, and/or in-person.

Therapy is more than just conversation. It is a space for growth, self-discovery, and healing. A place where you can feel heard, supported, and gently challenged as you move toward your goals. In our work together, I aim to create an environment that feels safe, welcoming, and affirming while encouraging the steps necessary for meaningful change. I honor your unique story and believe you already carry strength within you, even during moments when that strength feels harder to find.

My approach is collaborative, culturally responsive, and integrative, with a foundation in Person-Centered Therapy, attachment-based theory, and emotion-focused modalities. I also incorporate elements of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and mindfulness-based approaches according to each client’s needs. I believe you are the expert on your own life, and my role is to walk alongside you while offering tools, support, and new perspectives that align with your identities, experiences, and values.

I provide individual therapy, family therapy, and psychological testing for children ages six and older, adolescents, and adults. I have experience supporting individuals and families across inpatient, outpatient, and residential settings as they navigate concerns such as trauma, depression, anxiety, relationship difficulties, parenting challenges, and life transitions.

I am especially passionate about working with Black, Indigenous, and other people of color (BIPOC), including individuals and families whose experiences and identities have historically been misunderstood, overlooked, or underserved within mental health systems. I strive to create a space where culture, race, identity, family dynamics, and lived experiences are not treated as side notes but are recognized as meaningful parts of each person’s story. My goal is for people of all backgrounds, identities, and abilities to feel genuinely seen, valued, and understood.

In my free time, I enjoy working out, spending time with my cat, and settling in with a comfort show or movie.

I earned my bachelor’s degree in psychology with a minor in Child Advocacy Studies from Winona State University and my Doctor of Psychology (PsyD) in Clinical Psychology from Hawaiʻi Pacific University. I am currently completing my postdoctoral fellowship under the supervision of Dr. Jennifer Joseph, PsyD, LP.
