Pregnancy & Postpartum Concerns
Making the transition into motherhood can be difficult. In addition to the all the physical changes one must endure, there are often changes in one’s mood and thinking. We’re often told that pregnancy and early motherhood are supposed to be “magical” times, but for many, those times are anything but magical. Even though it might not feel like it, those feelings are common and you’re not a bad mother for experiencing them.
Clinical Staff Expertise
Our staff of trained Psychologists, Clinical Social Workers, Clinical Counselors, Marriage and Family Therapists and Drug and Alcohol Counselors can provide you with support as you make the transition into parenthood. We utilize a variety of approaches including cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness, psychodynamic therapy, family-focused, and interpersonal therapy. Many of our professional staff use an integrated combination of therapies to treat maternal mental health and can collaborate with a medical specialist if medications are recommended. The staff at River City Clinic will provide you with a safe and nonjudgmental environment where you can freely discuss your feelings about parenthood.
Natalis Counseling therapists also have experience supporting mothers in the recovery process. If you’re a pregnant woman or mother who struggles with addiction, on medication assisted treatment for substance use, and/or working with child protection, our staff can provide you with the help you need.
