Therapy for Pregnancy & Postpartum Concerns

Maternal mental health is a serious concern that often goes overlooked.

Pregnancy & Postpartum Concerns

Making the transition into motherhood can be difficult. In addition to the all the physical changes one must endure, there are often changes in one’s mood and thinking. We’re often told that pregnancy and early motherhood are supposed to be “magical” times, but for many, those times are anything but magical. Even though it might not feel like it, those feelings are common and you’re not a bad mother for experiencing them.

Signs you need support:

  • Anxiety
  • Feelings of hopelessness
  • Difficulty falling asleep or staying asleep (even when the baby is sleeping)
  • Feelings of hostility, including thoughts of harming the baby
  • Difficulty focusing or making decisions
  • Intrusive/scary thoughts
  • Obsessive-compulsive behaviors
  • Irritability
  • Seeing or hearing things that aren’t there
  • Difficulty experiencing loving feelings toward the baby and others in your life
  • Difficulty caring for self or baby
