About Brittney

Location: Woodbury, telehealth/in-person
Pronouns: She/Her

My professional interest and experience include working with children and adolescents with a variety of concerns including Depression, Anxiety, Behavioral Concerns, ADHD, and Trauma. I received a Bachelor of Science from the University of Minnesota and a Master of Social Work with a specialization in Trauma-Informed Care from the University of Northern Iowa.

I like to utilize play therapy, art therapy, and experiential techniques in my work with both kids and teens. All behavior is communication, and for kids, play is the language and the materials are the words. I really enjoy finding new ways to combine therapeutic work with play activities and I strive to create a collaborative therapeutic relationship with both my clients and their families. I work from a person-in-environment and systems perspective, considering the impact of both nature, genetics and brain chemistry, as well as nurture, the client’s environment and surroundings, when addressing symptoms, mental health, and well-being.

In my spare time, I enjoy reading fantasy novels, tending to my garden, baking (and taste testing), coloring and art, knitting/needlework, and anything to do with the outdoors. I recognize how hard and scary it can be for families to ask for help and I look forward to guiding both parents and kids through the therapeutic process.
