Mark has been working in the mental health field, counseling adults and couples since 1990. He is a leader in developing business systems in mental health that improve patient care. He has held CEO and CFO positions in mental health organizations and is the Founder and President of Counseling & Psychology Solutions, Minnesota, P.A. (CAPSmn). In addition to Mark’s clinical work as a Licensed Psychologist at Natalis Counseling & Psychology Solutions, P.A., he is the CFO of Aticus Connect, P.A. a company that manages mental health practices. Mark enjoys sports and was a competitive athlete. He also enjoys the outdoors, fishing, music, and dogs.
Therapeutic Orientation:
Mark’s therapeutic approach is integrative. He works collaboratively and diligently to find the best fit for each client. He uses techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Gottman Method, Emotional Focused Therapy (EFT), Learning theory, Interpersonal Therapy, and Psychodynamic Therapy. Mark also has a specialty in measuring psychotherapy/counseling outcomes and effectiveness.
Educational & Professional Activities:
Mark earned a Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology at the University of Missouri-Kansas City, and M.S. Ed. in Counseling at the University of Kansas, and a B.A. in Communications and Psychology at the University of Minnesota-Duluth. He completed his pre-doctoral internship in psychology at the University of Minnesota-Minneapolis. Mark is a member of the American Psychological Association, National Register of Health Service Providers in Psychology, and the Minnesota Psychological Association.
