Julie is an approved supervisor through the Board of Behavioral Health and Therapy for Alcohol and Drug Counselors, and dual Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist, licensed by the Minnesota Board of Marriage & Family Therapy, and a Licensed Alcohol & Drug Counselor, licensed by the Minnesota Board of Behavioral Health and Therapy. She is also a nationally certified TF-CBT therapist and trained in EMDR level 1 and 2.
She has experience working with youth, adolescents, adults, couples and families. She has worked in numerous settings, which has provided her the privilege of supporting individuals and families at different stages in their life journey. She has worked in schools, a secured hospital unit, residential and intensive outpatient treatment centers, and aftercare programs.
Julie’s clients have commented on her ability to remain non-judgmental, support their values and goals by using a gentle manner in helping them address their challenging issues. She appreciates the complexity of relationships and works to foster trust and respect in the sometimes-challenging space of recovery. Julie focuses on supporting strengths while honoring peoples complex journey and diverse life experiences. She believes in collaborating with clients on a path toward health and healing. Julie has a co-therapist, Oliver the Aussiedoodle. She and Oliver are certified as a therapy animal team.
