Dr. Jeff Hansen, LADC, PsyD, LP has worked in behavioral health since 1993 with various populations and settings. Populations include adults experiencing serious and persistent mental health and addiction issues as well as adolescents with mental health and substance use issues. Much of his career includes crisis, inpatient, and stabilization work within behavioral health hospital settings.
Jeff has also received supervised clinical training involving: LGBTQ persons experiencing problems with substance use, adjudicated adolescent and young adult sex offender treatment, children ages 5+ with ASD, and psychological assessment of attention problems, mood disorders, cognitive and personality functioning.
Currently, Jeff’s practice includes outpatient psychotherapy with individual’s experiencing a spectrum of emotional/behavioral health issues. While working with numerous mental health related issues, his niche is with adolescents, young adults, and adults experiencing mental health and substance use problems – often in later stages of recovery status. Related to such special interests, Jeff teaches graduate school courses at St. Mary’s University and the University of Minnesota in programs dedicated to co-occurring disorder training and education.
In addition to work with co-occurring disorders, Jeff also has a notable interest in Contemporary Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy. In support of such an interest, he has nearly completed training at the Minnesota Institute of Contemporary Psychoanalysis and Psychotherapy towards certification as a Psychoanalyst.

Jeff previously completed a Bachelor’s degree in Addiction Counseling at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities; a Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology at Saint Mary’s University; and a Doctorate in Counseling Psychology from St Thomas School of Professional Psychology.
