The Psychiatric Physician’s Assistant (PA) role at Natalis involves the clinician providing diagnostic and medication management services to patients of Natalis. The clinician can expect to collaborate with other members of the psychiatry team, as well as psychologists and therapists at Natalis. Because Natalis is a training clinic, the clinician may have opportunities to assist in training of other PA, NP and medical students’ training by being available to be shadowed during those students’ rotations. The PA will be provided with administrative support for prior authorizations, prescriptions, scheduling and basic phone calls. Natalis is partnered with Genoa pharmacies, and they also provide support for the clinician and patients.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Conduct patient assessments and provide care consistent with accepted professional standards, including evaluations, treatment, referral, and related documentation.
  • Provide psychiatric evaluations, medication management
    Attend case consultations and collaborate with other providers within the clinic.
  • Willing to assist in training experiences of rotating students (PAs, NPs or medical students)

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Prior experience managing psychiatric patients, treatments, and medication
  • Capable of functioning independently to provide psychiatric care in an outpatient setting
  • Ability to work with diverse groups and maintain confidentiality
  • Has no pending actions by the board in any state
  • Must be currently credentialed with insurance, or be willing to become credentialed
  • Comfortable in the use our technology suite: Microsoft 360, EHR / EMR Systems, etc…
  • Knowledge of HIPAA policies and best practices.
  • The ability to work as a team

  • Well-organized with a strong attention to detail
  • Empathetic to client needs and concerns

Education and Experience

  • Successful completion of a formal physician assistant
  • Active PA license
  • DEA license
  • Possess current board certification (NCCPA)

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working at a computer
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds
