Education & Professional Activities
Robin McLeod, PhD, LP, Licensed Psychologist in Minnesota, is the President, Chief Business Development Officer and Emeritus Director of Training at Natalis. Dr. McLeod works with children, teens and adults who struggle with many mental health challenges including depression, anxiety, relationship conflict, terminal illness, complicated grief, chronic pain, autism spectrum disorders, and other disabilities that interfere with daily living. With couples and families, she focuses on improving relationship communication skills so that family members can solve problems more effectively. In her work with people who struggle with the social and emotional challenges of autism spectrum disorders, Dr. McLeod helps people identify the ways that this particular way of being in the world is both a strength and a challenge, and then identifies specific skill sets that need to be learned. In addition to her work directly with clients on the autism spectrum, Dr. McLeod works with parents of children, adolescents and young adults as they struggle with the unique challenges of parenting a child with developmental disabilities or chronic mental illness.

Dr. McLeod holds doctoral and master’s degrees in Counseling Psychology from the University of Minnesota, and a master’s degree in Speech Communication from Central Missouri State University. Prior to becoming a psychologist, Dr. McLeod was a high school English teacher and debate coach. As such, she enjoys speaking in the community on topics ranging from parenting teens in the digital age to succeeding in college with Autism.

Dr. McLeod currently serves as President of the American Psychological Association’s (APA) Division 42, The Community for Psychologists in Independent practice. She was the 2022 Chair of the APA Board of Professional Affairs and currently serves as a member of this board and as the Minnesota representative to the APA Council of Representatives. Dr. McLeod was the 2020 Chair of APA’s Committee of State Leaders and as the 2016 President of the Minnesota Psychological Association (MPA). In 2017, Dr. McLeod was appointed by Minnesota Governor Dayton to serve on the Minnesota Board of Psychology as the Doctoral Program representative and served as the Chair of the Board of Psychology from 2019-2023. Dr. McLeod also is a graduate of APA’s Leadership Institute for Women in Psychology, in 2018 was awarded the Karl F Heiser APA Presidential Award for Advocacy, and in 2020 was presented with the MPA Susan T.
