Jeff has worked in behavioral health for the last 17 years, including work with adults experiencing serious and persistent mental illness and adolescents having mental health and/or substance abuse issues. He is currently the lead psychotherapist for the Dual Diagnosis inpatient assessment and treatment program at the University of Minnesota, Fairview.

Jeff’s areas of interest include individual and group therapy with children, adolescents, and adults and he appreciates contemporary psychodynamic, humanistic, and developmental approaches of psychotherapy and case conceptualization.

In light of his professed appreciation of contemporary psychodynamic theory, Jeff values not only the counseling relationship and how our histories of relationships changes us throughout life, but also the relation we have with ourselves and the importance of considering personality in treating individuals encountering difficulty.
